Stakeing Leachfield, Near Septic Tank

Septic System Design

A typical septic system includes a septic tank with a disposal field  (leach field). The septic tank holds solid waste while the wastewater flows to the disposal field where it is treated. These systems are usually required in areas where public sewer is unavailable. There are other treatment options depending on your need such as graywater systems, alternative toilets, and holding tanks.

This service can be done for:

  • Single-family homes

  • Multi-unit buildings

  • Campgrounds

  • Commercial Businesses

  • Camps

Types of Disposal Fields:

  • Pipe and Stone

  • Eljen Geotextile Sand Filter

  • Infiltrator Quick 4 Plastic Chambers

  • Concrete Chambers

I will meet you at the site to perform a site evaluation.

This includes a soil test or perc test to determine the soil at the site as well as determine site characteristics.

First

I will then size the septic system to acommodate your building needs. Then the system is staked and referenced to conform with the Maine Subsurface Disposal Rules.

Second

After the initial site evaluation, I will design a septic system on AutoCAD to best fit your site. You will use this Design or HHE-200 form to apply for your permit to build your septic system.

Third

This can be done for a first-time system or a replacement system if your current system is failing.

Preliminary Soil Test

A preliminary soil test is needed to determine if a site can support a septic system. This service is used mainly by real estate agents and prospective land buyers.

I will perform a site evaluation on the lot to find one or two locations that can support a septic system.

First

Second

I will map the location with a soil log, and report, to record the findings.

Site Evaluation:

A Site Evaluation is the process of determining the soil and site conditions for placement of a Septic system.
